Year in Review — AD from 2023 to 2025

From two co-founders to a full creative agency. 30+ clients, 200+ projects, 6+ industries, and a new office in KL Eco City. Here’s the recap.

How It Started

AD — Adtorial Insights Production — started in 2023 with two co-founders, a handful of freelance projects, and a conviction that creative agencies in Malaysia could be run differently. Less bloat. More craft. Engineering-level precision applied to creative work.

We didn’t have an office. We didn’t have a portfolio website worth showing. We had skills, standards, and the stubbornness to say no to work that didn’t meet our bar.

What We’ve Built Since

In roughly two years, AD has grown to serve 30+ clients across 200+ projects spanning 6+ industries. Oil and gas. Financial services. Government. Agriculture. Technology. Property development. Each industry taught us something different. Each client pushed our capabilities further.

Some highlights that defined the trajectory:

  • PETRONAS: Learning management system and digital training tools for one of Southeast Asia’s largest corporations
  • Bosch: E-catalog system bringing industrial product data into a structured, searchable digital format
  • JAKIM: Full creative direction and event management for the Global Halal Summit 2025 — the largest project in our history
  • MIDF Invest: Trading platform development across PWA and native mobile
  • Government trust: Repeat engagements with MARDI, MADA, ANM, KPDN, and MSWP — a track record that compounds

The Three Pillars

Along the way, we formalised our service model into three pillars: Create (branding, design, content), Experience (events, activations, experiential), and Build (web development, systems, digital products). Not because we needed a framework for the sake of it — but because clients kept coming to us for all three, and we needed a clear way to talk about it.

The pillar model isn’t just taxonomy. It’s how we staff projects, price work, and deliver results. Each pillar has its own specialists, its own processes, and its own quality bar.

KL Eco City

In 2025, AD moved into our new office at KL Eco City. A proper space for a growing team — with room for the creative sessions, client presentations, and late-night production pushes that define agency life. It’s not a flex. It’s an investment in being able to do better work for the people who trust us with theirs.

What’s Next

2026 is about depth, not just breadth. Deeper expertise in each pillar. Deeper relationships with existing clients. Deeper investment in our team and tools. We’re not chasing growth for growth’s sake — we’re building an agency that can sustain the quality our clients have come to expect.
